Quick-plug couplings made by Erwin Halder KG
The perfect connection between axially movable components
Compensating radial and angular offset
The cornerstone of every economical manufacturing operation is the ability to keep the time required for maintenance and repairs as short as possible. This is why connections allowing for quick and easy release, for instance when parts need to be exchanged, can make a decisive contribution. The quick-plug couplings designed by Erwin Halder KG are the ideal complement to any axially movable component.
“Engineered to transmit axial forces, our quick-plug couplings are the best possible choice when it comes to joining two axially movable components in a form-fitting way and without any play”, explains Bernd Janner, Sales Manager at Erwin Halder KG. The range of possible applications is extensive: The quick-plug couplings serve as a link between a piston rod and a linear movement unit. They make the installation and removal of pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders on a shaft a cinch and can also serve as helpful tools in other areas, e.g. for quickly swapping moulds in injection moulding machines.
Compact design without any loose components
The 2-part connecting elements are made up of a claw / mounting flange and a coupling part. All it takes to install / remove the robust coupling without tools is to fit the coupling part into the T-slot of the claw. Manual readjustments are not necessary. This feature reduces the maintenance required during dismantling and assembly to a minimum.
Better still, quick-plug couplings offer additional advantages aside from guaranteeing swift assembly: Erwin Halder KG’s portfolio offers three models, all of which capable of compensating a radial offset of up to 1 mm - depending on the version used. “The third model we offer even has the ability to compensate angle offsets of up to 4°, which makes it an outstanding option for applications involving non-aligned linear movements”, Bernd Janner continues.
Users can choose between two options when it comes to attaching quick-plug couplings to components / the machine. Both the simple version and the version that comes with a mounting flange allows customers to choose between a design with a female and a male thread and a design that sports a female thread on both ends. The version that also offers angular offset compensation is only available with a female and a male thread. These versatile connection options make it possible to attach our quick-plug couplings to all common pneumatic and hydraulic lifting cylinders.
All models are available from stock with diameters ranging from M6 to M20 x 1.5. Erwin Halder KG uses only materials of the finest quality to guarantee exceptional resistance to wear: Claw, flange section / claw and conical seat (model with angular offset compensation capability) are made of hard-treated steel that is tempered and phosphated. The lock nut is made of black steel (ISO 4035/8675), while the spring used for angular offset compensation is manufactured with stainless steel.
