For more than 70 years, Erwin Halder KG from Achstetten-Bronnen has manufactured high-quality standard products. By combining spherical washers and conical seats to form a securely connected unit - the compact spherical washer conical seat - the clamping of workpieces with uneven clamping surfaces is even easier.
Right angles, accurate surfaces and parallel sides - all well and good if every workpiece to be processed fitted this mould. However, the reality is rather different: acute and obtuse angles, slants and the like are closer to the norm in everyday industrial life. So that these components can also be reliably clamped and to prevent them from slipping during processing, Erwin Halder KG has a suitable clamp in its standard range for almost every application. With the compact spherical washer conical seat, for example, workpieces with non-parallel surfaces can be clamped simply, quickly and reliably.
"An uneven workpiece cannot simply be fixed to the machine table using a clamping unit, for example, consisting of a clamp, nut and mounting pad. Because the angle of the contact surface between the clamp and workpiece would not provide a secure hold. This is exactly where the compact spherical washer conical seats can be used. Because they transfer the clamping forces if the clamping surfaces do not run parallel to one another," says Bernd Janner, Sales Executive of Erwin Halder KG. Due to its rounding, the spherical washer can move in a rotating area of 4° in the conical seat and thus easily compensate for the angle. "If the nut is then tightened, nothing will slip!" adds Bernd Janner.
The difference with conventional types is the combination. Normally the two individual parts - conical seat and spherical washer - are simply placed in one another. However, for the compact spherical washer conical seat, both components form a unit. This prevents the spherical washer from slipping out of the conical seat. Bernd Janner: "That has many benefits: The compact spherical washer conical seats work reliably. Fast and simple installation is possible without the risk of losing a constituent part. And storage is made easier because only one part rather than two components have to be stocked.
The compact spherical washer conical seats are available in two material types: 1.4305 stainless steel, and with the spherical washer made of case-hardened steel and the conical seat made of heat-treated steel. They are available with inner diameters in grades from 6.4 to 21 mm, for pins from M6 to M20. The tolerance of the hole is H13. Depending on the size and version, the compact spherical washer conical seats can be loaded with up to 117 kN.
